FACE-TO-FACE THERAPY
Clinical Psychology Sessions
The fee for face-to-face clinical psychology services at our practice is $180 for a 50-minute session.
Several rebates are available for psychological services. Under the Medicare Better Access to mental health care initiative, you can obtain a rebate for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year. To do this, you’ll need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or psychiatrist. As at 2024, the rebate is $137.05 for a 50-minute session.
Many private health funds offer rebates for psychology services depending on your level of cover. Please contact your fund to find out your eligibility.
If you’ve been referred as part of a workers compensation matter, your insurer will cover the fee.
Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will incur an $85 fee. This is not reimbursable by Medicare or other insurers.
Counselling Sessions
The fee for face-to-face counselling sessions is not covered by the Medicare Better Access scheme. The fee for a 50-minute session is currently by negotiation given that there are limited appointment times available.
Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will incur a 50% charge of the fee.
